Outfitted with pens and petitions, Martha Molinini set out bright and early Monday morning, Mar. 24, to collect signatures. An engineering student, she decided to collect signatures after reading on Ocean Cruiser another tuition hike had been proposed for OCC.

2 trustees offer aid

After voting to increase student tuition by two additional dollars for the fall semester, trustee Robert Fall offered some personal help for those students who will be affected by the increase. "Students don't sit in all our meetings and see all that we have been through," said Fall, referring to budget meetings.

Institute attended

The United States Institute of Peace seminar in Washington, D.C., recently included talks with three different scholars and covered three varied topics. The seminar is set up each year by Katherine Tietge, associate professor of philosophy. It is a day set aside strictly for selected OCC students, a conference in which the speakers are accessible and open to questions from the students.

Mount gets 27 to register

Ever heard young people do not care about politics? That they just do not get it? Do not tell that to Nicole Mount, who answered a challenge by one of her professors with astounding results. John Brogan, an adjunct instructor of sociology, gave his students a challenge recently to get 10 people to register to vote between February and May.
