Flobots offer political rap, other music

This is a time in which rap meets rock, and now rap meets folk and indie.
Out of Denver comes Flobots. The group combines political rap, violin, trumpet and indie music to create a creative clash of sound and a deep message. There is an unsullied air of liberty personified into a composition that is free falling into industry. Add a feeling of free will as if letting go of handlebars. This is progressive rock, infused by a classically trained violin, which adds drama to the music.
The lyrics have a deeper political meaning surrounded by unique music. "We rise together! Together we rise," is a powerful message to a nation that regrets going to war.
The sound is something I have never herd before from a group like this. It is an expression of independence. The group took an experiment, perfected it and released it to the nation.
Flobots released its second album in late 2007 and called it Fight with Tools. This album is definitely worth a listen if progressive is your bag. "Handlebars" is a single, and it has received so much positive feedback. The group may just "lead a nation with a microphone." The band is so weird it is good.
Flobots receives:
•Creativity: 25-there is no contest here. This is so odd, but it works •Lyrics: 24-I am into political lyrics and words with power.
•Flow: 24-flow is awesome, and it is not boring. Some of the songs seem too similar.
•Originality: 25-band is original, and these are strange but awesome sounds.
Flobots' Fight with Tools gets an overall score of 98 or A+. This is definitely worth listening to.
